A lot of people want to know what the first steps are when purchasing a home, so we are going to cover them today. The first things we should think about are things like what kind of neighborhood you want to live in, what kinds of schools you want to be near, and what the most important things are to you in that home.
Once you decide those things, you should meet with a professional mortgage lender to get pre-approved. You could even take it a step further and go through the full underwriting process, which would make your offer even more compelling down the road. Then you should have the lender pull your credit and figure out what your monthly payment is going to look like going forward
Start your search in your most-searched neighborhood.
Finally, before you hit the ground running, do some window shopping online. If there are neighborhoods that are appealing to you, start your home search there.
If you have any questions for us or if you’re thinking of buying or selling, give us a call or send us an email. We look forward to hearing from you.
