Cristina Dougherty is a Long & Foster agent with the Fair Oaks office. Cristina has had over 20 years work experience serving the public in two capacities. For 12 years Cristina was a special education teacher with the Fairfax County Public School system. She focused her attention on teaching elementary and middle school students with learning disabilities, focusing in the area of reading. Cristina rose to the top of her profession becoming one of the first group of special educators to become Nationally Board Certified in the state of Virginia. For the past 8 years, Cristina has been working with home buyers and sellers in the Northern Virginia area. Her experience working with families and colleagues prepared her for many successful relationships with her clients. She has earned a reputation of being hard working, responsible, honest and fun!

Background

Cristina has an international upbringing having been a child of a State Department family. Cristina was born in Senegal, West Africa and lived her childhood in Dakar, Senegal, Accra, Ghana, Ottawa, Canada and Madrid, Spain. Cristina moved back to the Northern Virginia area in 1982. She attended college in Charleston, SC and received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She went on for her Masters Degree in Teaching in 1993. Cristina received her Real Estate license in 2003. Cristina and her husband live in Fairfax with their three children.
