Have you ever wondered why the MLS says 1100 square feet for a house you know is clearly larger than 1100 square feet? The MLS defines taxable living space as living space that is above the ground. So, if you you have a 3 story house, and all 3 levels equal 3600 sq feet, chances are when you sell your house is listed as 2400 sq feet. It gets interesting when you are looking at a split level home. Again, the top floor is listed, but the bottom is not so it may –on first glance-look equal to the 1 level rambler next door. Just keep this in mind when you compare square feet using any internet site without the guidance of a REALTOR®.

Everything has an app, right? Why should real estate be different. Search for the Long & Foster app in your app store. For the access code use “getkeyedup” and allow GPS technology give you information about the houses close by. Looking for open houses on Sundays? No problem. What else can you do with this app? Save notes, photos, and additional info about your favorite homes. Receive alerts when a new home has been added to the MLS that meets your criteria. Find demographic info on houses (average income of local residents, education, and population characteristics). Get school data- public and private. What did we do before the internet? Who knows. Just be thankful and rejoice when it comes to smartphones and what is available at our fingertips. Happy Searching!

6:45.Bird Chirps. Eyes Open. Get Dressed. Drive 180 seconds. Use a Fob. ARC trainer on. Today Show on. One more day of personal success. I have arrived at the Franklin Farm Snap Fitness. It’s the same folks, my 2011 version of the Breakfast Club all working on our personal goals of health, happiness and starting out our day on the right foot. As I stepped in here 2 months ago to speak with the owner, Schatem Boyd, I recall telling her I’d rather get my teeth pulled than be in a gym. The smell of sweat, the pressure of always feeling like I didn’t measure up to the people that surrounded me, the equipment. But I thought I would give it a shot one more time. Maybe this time would be different. WOW! How different it was! It’s clean. It’s friendly. It’s personal. It’s in my community. It’s real people coming together with a common health goal. Did I say it was clean? Did I say it’s the perfect fit for me? Maybe I wouldn’t rather be at the dentist. 7:45. I’m walking out with a fresh banana or apple provided by my friends at Snap Fitness Herndon. I will see you again tomorrow!
